About - Electrical Engineering
Electrical engineers are usually concerned with using electricity to transmit energy. Electrical engineering is considered to deal with the problems associated with large-cale electrical systems such as power transmission and control. The graduation course in Electrical engineering provides a basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles along with the required supporting knowledge of mathematics, science, computing, and engineering fundamentals. Students then choose to specialize in one or more sub-disciplines towards the end of the degree. Power Engineering deals with the eneration, transmission and distribution of electricity as well as the design of a range of related devices. These include transformers, electric generators, electric motors, high voltage engineering and power electronics. Control engineering focuses on the modeling of a diverse range of dynamic systems and the design of controllers that will cause these systems to behave in the desired manner. To implement such controllers electrical engineers may use electrical circuits, digital signal processors, microcontrollers and PLCs and (Programmable Logic Controllers).

At the end of the course, the students are expected to

* Develop the basic skills needed to perform and design experimental projects.

* Develop the ability to formulate problems and projects

* To plan a process for solution taking advantage of diverse technical knowledge and skills.

* Develop the ability to organize and present information and to write and speak effective English.
